Here is a selection of The Mountain Trust's recent activities. If you would like to get involved with us or have any questions regarding forthcoming events we would welcome you to contact us.
Mother's Day Stall at Cambridge Regional College
On 12th March 2014 The Mountain Trust will be selling high quality pashminas made by disabled craftspeople in Pokhara, Nepal. The pashminas come in all colours to various traditional and modern designs. They provide an important means of fundraising for the Mountain Trust. We will also be selling sterling silver jewellery. Some excellent presents for mums. This will be the second year in a row that CRC have been generous enough to host us.
Sawston Village College kindly played host to the Mountain Trust putting on a fantastic fundraising event, complete with steel drums, interesting stalls and delicious crepes, in the lead up to Christmas 2013. The College's International Forum devised the event to raise funds for three students they will be sponsoring in Nepal for the next 5 years.
Charity Cricket Match
In July 2013 The Mountain Trust raised a cricketing XI to play Darwin College CC at Great Shelford. The event was branded a 'Family Fun Day' complete with bouncy castles, BBQ, and drinks. Unfortunately the Mountain Trust XI was defeated by 42 runs. The event did, however, raise over £600 for the Trust. Huge thanks to Darwin College for taking part and generously donating. Thanks also to Shelford Cricket Club and all those who put in so much hard work. The event also featured in the Cambridge Evening News.
In October 2011, the Trust hosted its first fund raising Ball at Anstey Hall, Cambridge.
The event proved to be popular and raised £5,506 on the night. Thanks to all who sponsored, donated, volunteered and supported the event.
